The Body

Our Body is where our healing happens.  It is the vessel we use to manifest in this lifetime and needs to be strong and balanced.  We must feel confident in our ability to respect, care for, and utilize our bodies.  The health of our body is supported by diet, exercise, sleep, breathwork, body work, bathing, posture focus, mindful movement, and more.

As you answer the question in the next section, keep the following in mind: Internally - the thoughts, feelings, and beliefs about your Body as well as Externally - the somatic actions, practices, and routines you have in your physical life.  Do you feel physically strong, balanced and attractive?  What are the physical practices you use to care for your body?  What is your diet and exercise routine?  Do you engage in mindful movement practices or breathwork?  Do you create intentional bathing/beauty routines? Do you feel organized and structured in your relationship with your body?  Do you feel intuitive and creative in your relationship with your body?  Do you fall asleep and stay asleep well?  Are you able to create states of physical relaxation for your body outside of sleep?  How do you use your body on a practical level every day?  Is your body part of your spiritual life?

MIND

Everything is Mental.  Most of our perception of self and others, and our behavior is directed by unconscious thoughts and beliefs that live in our mind, below our level of consciousness.  But we can influence and even build our unconscious world by connecting thoughts with feelings.  So, our mind plays a huge part in our overall wellness.  The health of our mind is supported by self-awareness, elevated inner dialogue, empowering core beliefs, radical responsibility, emotional management, meditation, mindfulness practices, etc.

Before you answer the next question, consider the following: How aware are you of your thoughts?  Are you capable of witnessing your thoughts without emotional attachment?  Do you have a generally positive or negative inner dialogue?  Do you feel confident in your ability to manage your emotions?  Do you know your values and put action towards them daily?  Do you feel like a victim or authority figure in your life?  Are you able to create organized thought patterns to support your day?  Do you get stuck in rigid, judgmental thinking patterns?  Are you able to connect with creativity and intuition?  Do you get stuck in chaotic, overwhelming thinking patterns?  How do you use your consciousness to support your physical life?  How does your consciousness play a part of your spiritual life?

ENVIRONMENT

We are energetic beings, and as such, our energy system is deeply impacted by our environment.  In healthy environments our system is supported and uplifted, in unhealthy environments our system is challenged and depleted.  Our home is the most important environment we create since it is the place we rest, connect with loved ones, and restore ourselves.  Our home must be our sanctuary, a place we feel safe, fortified, and inspired.  The energy of our home is supported by organization, cleanliness, beauty, play, and harmony.  We must also bring the same care and attention into other frequented areas like our car and office.

Before you answer the next question, consider the following: How do you feel when you’re in your home?  How would you describe your home?  How much time and attention to you give your home environment?  Do you have systems in place to help you optimize your responsibilities and care for your home?  Do you feel organized or chaotic in your home?  Do you have beauty in your home?  Do you feel safe, loved, rejuvenated, inspired, and creative in your home?  Do you put time and effort into the lighting, sounds, smells, textures, and food in your home?  Do you feel dominion over the kingdom of you home?  Do you host people in your home?  How do you feel about your family/friend(s) living in or visiting your home?  Do you have regular cleaning and energy clearing practices?  Do you respect your home?  How do you show that respect?

NOURISHMENT

As energetic beings, we are constantly receiving and giving energy and impacted by all other energy sources (people, places, words, sounds, colors, experiences, events, etc.).  Therefore, it is paramount to be aware of the energy you take in throughout your day.  A significant part of developing holistic wellness is reducing negative energy in our life including negative media, unhealthy relationships, destructive behaviors and substances, and depleting experiences.  When we absorb (consciously and unconsciously) positive, motivating, beautiful, and loving energy it supports our inner harmony and outwards goals that are in alignment with those same energies.  When we absorb negative, discouraging, ugly, and hateful energy it depletes our inner peace and obstructs our efforts towards our value driven goals.

Before you answer the next question, consider the following: How intentional are you about the energy/information you take in from people, places, news, music, media, food, experiences, art, nature, etc. on a daily basis?  What are positive, supportive ways you consume energy daily?  How does it impact you?  What are negative, destructive ways you consume energy daily?  How does it impact you?  How much and when do you engage in numbing behavior including alcohol, drugs, over-eating, over-working, and unhealthy sex?

CREATIVITY

Creativity is a core aspect of who we are and what we are here to do.  So, in order to be holistically well in our lives, we must be actively engaged in creativity on a daily basis.  We can do this in every part of our life: work, family, home, community, diet/exercise, hobbies, etc.  Creativity impacts mood regulation, stress management, immune system function and spiritual development.  It is an important part of integrating, expressing, processing, and releasing energy/information/experiences.  Creative activities including drawing/painting, engaging with music, movement, telling/writing stories, cooking, fashion, spending time in nature, and playing.  The key elements of creativity include self-directed, less structured, imaginative, innovative, and process-oriented vs. result-oriented.

Before you answer the next question, consider the following: What does creativity mean to you?  Do you value creativity?  Do you think of yourself as a creative person?  Do you consciously engage in creativity daily?  How?  How does creativity play a role in your holistic wellness?  Do you engage in creativity at your work?  Do you share creative experiences with your family and/or friends?  When in your life were you most creative?  What were the circumstances that impacted that creativity?  When in your life were you least creative and why? Do you value Play?  How do you engage in Play?  How do you feel when you do?

COMMUNITY

We were created to be a part of community and our health and wellness decline when we are isolated.  Community is a group of people who share values, interests, goals, practices and sometimes location.  This includes family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, virtual groups etc.  The most important aspect of community is the quality of the relationships within it.  These relationships offer us both compassion and accountability, necessary ingredients for healing and growth.  Community is where we get support and information as well as where we practice and develop awareness, communication, respect, empathy, and service.  And when our community is united in spiritual teachings and practices, the impact is exponential because the support for each other is not based on our physical life but rather our spiritual purpose.

Before you answer the next question, consider the following: Do you actively engage in community?  Do you feel isolated and/or lonely?  Who is a part of your community?  Do you have healthy relationships in your life?  Do you feel safe, supported, trusted, respected, and loved by people?  Do you offer others safety, support, trust, respect, and love? How would people describe you?  Do you have healthy communication skills?  Do you have healthy boundaries?  Do you use relationships to develop self-awareness?  Do you feel jealousy or judgement towards others?  Do you feel righteousness or entitlement?  Do you participate in service?  Do you volunteer?  How do you support your community?
